A way to illustrate this is when you look at the basic layout of your table saw. Table saws still cut wood on a flat table using a guide and a cutting blade. What has changed is the level of cutting precision, many of the newer electronic gadgets and better safety accessories.
When looking into table saw reviews though, you do have to consider what you will be using the saw for. It is super easy to spend tons of money picking up a table saw based upon table saw reviews that show shining features.
Indulge me for a moment with a personal story. I was easily swayed into a table saw that was much more then what I needed and I now realize this after years of use. As it was, I spent over $500 on the unit I finally chose.
As I mentioned, I do still have that table saw as it is a great table saw and I’ve hardly used it to its fullest. I’ve also used smaller more portable units of some of my friends and I’ve been able to perform the same job on their much cheaper units.
On the other end of the spectrum, one good friend of mine wouldn’t even consider an unit under $1000. If he started to look into table saw reviews, he wouldn’t even look at a sub unit under $1500. He needs an unit that can be run continuously for he is in the house building trade. Whatever he would choose would have to function extremely well, without failure as it is needed for is job.
For him though, considering a table saw with too many bells and whistles would not interest him in the least. When he looks at table saw reviews, he only cares that it is recommended by other contractors who use it every day already.
